In the not so distant past It was easy for me to find people with nice cars or friends of friends and acquaintances to model. Now however it seems I have to beg and even that doesnt work. If I want a nice car to shoot I have to rent it or buy it myself. If I want to do a modeling shoot, its just been me and Lauren for what seems to be years now. I can fly anywhere, anytime on Southwest and AirTran for free and make that fact be known, but it just seems there is too much competition out there these days to get any attention. I dont plan on leaving my hobby anytime soon, but I have to apologize to those here who enjoy my work because the amount of new submissions is lacking. Stay tuned. Maybe someday it will pick up again.

Hey, man. Hobbies are tough to keep up with, but buck up. You've got to make things happen for yourself! Begging is one thing, but try and branch out man. Look for opportunities doing things you wouldn't normally do. Portraits, family photos, whatever else. It may not be what you want to do, but you'll get the chance to network.

I understand the distinct need to want to keep with what you know, but you risk getting yourself stuck in a corner. Then the hobby is no longer any fun and what's the point of that?!

Just keep snapping, and keep your options open, mang. You'll get it sorted.

Cheers!

I'm watching for the long haul - I'm glad you care about what you post and don't post crap just to have something to post. Makes it all worth it!

For a while now I've wanted to bring a model with me to certain car shows where I know there will be cars that would look even more fabulous with a
retro/1950s/1960s style model. I spotted the perfect look that I wanted at Trader Joe's. She was an employee outside on shopping cart roundup duty. I tried to think of some kind of opening line that would sound reasonable to ask her if she would consider being a car show model, where we would be in public and her husband or boyfriend could be watching nearby, but the only lines I could come up with would probably sound cheesy, security would be summoned and I would be banned from my favorite food store.
